Having the opportunity to produce in Mexico gave us a lot of benefits, make sure to read about these benefits below!
Rompa Group Mexico, how did it start?
It was in the year 2019 that Rompa Group acquired ITB Group. It used to be called ITB Dooremalen Industries Mexico, we recently rebranded this to Rompa MX. From now on you will recognize this facility by the brand of Rompa Group, but this does not mean that we changed a lot more. The production site already was a successful manufacturer for the automotive industry.
Would you like to learn more about the acquisition of ITB Group? Make sure to read about it here! Besides Mexico we also acquired locations in The Czech Republic and The Netherlands, expanding our global footprint even further.

Where do we currently stand in Mexico?
Rompa MX is currently operating injection molding, mainly for the automotive industry. The production site consists of 4199 m² and delivers various complex and innovative parts for the automotive industry.
Injection molding
Rompa Group is specialized in many different systems in injection molding. This can be thermoplastics like PET, ABS, Polyethylene, PC, Polystyrene and Polypropene, but also engineering plastics like Ultem, PSU, PPU and PEI. Injection molding is a well established method in the automotive industry. The production process where we inject molten plastic material into a mold cavity has been used in this industry for many years. Injection molding is a reliable process if we want to produce solid, strong and high quality products.
Automotive industry
In this industry, safety and quality are the most important factors. Injection molding is a prominent step during the production process of a vehicle. Below we explain to you why injection molding is so suitable for this industry.
The produced parts need to be consistent and identical. If the mold has a good design and finishing then the produced parts can be expected to be consistent and identical.
The more parts requested, the lower the price. Creating a mold can be an expensive process, it pays itself back over time when many parts have been produced thanks to this mold. In general the automotive industry relies heavily on high volume production.
Rompa Group has the availability to offer many different usable materials. Besides the materials we can also offer a wide variety of colors, so we can stay in the vehicle’s color scheme.
Injection molding gives us the possibility to produce certain surface finishes. Think about different surface textures such as glossy, matte or rough.
Certified manufacturer
Being certified is something that is very important to us. It means that an independent third party checked our production processes with high expertise and knowledge and that they can assure us that we are following the right path. Not only does this give reassurance to us, it's mainly introduced for our clients to be sure that we follow the right principles. We are proud to let you know that our facility is certified with the following certifications:
- ISO 9001, this is certification regarding our quality management systems (QMS). The 9001 certification is a standard setup based on quality criteria with a strong customer focus but also checks the quality of the management principles and the continual improvement overall in the company.
- ISO 14001 is certification regarding evidence that our environmental management system (EMS) is in control. This certification looks at the current state but also requires environmental objectives to work towards too. Also training requirements have to be assessed, implemented and checked.
IATF 16949 stands for The International Automotive Task Force (IATF) and is based on ISO 9001 but this certification has customer specific requirements specially for the automotive industry.
Would you like to know the exact requirements for these certificates? Make sure to contact us or check our website with more details regarding all certifications from Rompa Group.
How do we see the future of Rompa Group in Mexico?
It has only been two years since the start but it feels like family from the beginning. This is due to the smooth acquisition of ITB Group and their previous mentality. This mentality is very similar to Rompa Group´s and it was easy to combine the best of both worlds. It's only been this year that we did the full rebranding of the location to the colors and name of Rompa Group and we are very motivated to invest, innovate and empower this location. We are eager to continue the innovative phase which we had since the very beginning of Rompa Group!
