A meaningful gift marks a milestone moment at Rompa CZ

Rompa now has a lasting reminder of the opening ceremony for our new Class 7 cleanroom facility in the Czech Republic, in the form of a generous and thoughtful gift from our customer, the biotechnology company Revvity.

This special artwork connects the event to the wider story of Life Sciences research, and was presented by Revvity’s Managing Director, Jochem Bruggeman, to Marcos Valladolid, Rompa’s COO.

The story behind the artwork

The art was created using Revvity’s own instruments and depicts HeLa cells, which hold a unique place in biomedical research. They were the first human cells successfully grown continuously in a laboratory and remain one of the most widely used cell lines in science today.

Originally taken from Henrietta Lacks in 1951, HeLa cells have contributed to thousands of scientific breakthroughs over more than 75 years of research. They have played an important role in areas including vaccine development, cancer research, virology, drug screening, gene mapping and many other fields of biomedical science.

The story of HeLa cells is also an important reminder of the ethical responsibilities that come with scientific progress. Henrietta Lacks’ cells were used without her knowledge or consent, raising questions about patient rights, informed consent and the use of biological materials in research. Those discussions continue to influence how biomedical research is conducted today.

Celebrating a long-standing partnership with Revvity

For Rompa, the present is a symbol of the partnership between our two companies and of the Life Sciences work now taking place inside the new cleanroom.

The gift also marks Rompa’s longstanding partnership with Revvity, whose advanced diagnostics products were the first to go into production in the new ISO Class 7 cleanroom at Rompa CZ. This made the opening ceremony not only a celebration of a new facility, but also a celebration of the collaboration, trust and shared commitment that helped bring the project to life.

The cleanroom is equipped with multiple fully integrated production lines, including highly automated manufacturing solutions for microplate production. It enables Rompa to support customers with demanding applications in healthcare, diagnostics and other highly regulated Life Sciences markets.

We are grateful to Revvity for such a thoughtful gesture, and to everyone who joined us to mark this important moment for Rompa CZ.

As the artwork reminds us, progress in Life Sciences depends on precision, partnership and respect for the scientific work that helps improve lives. We are proud that our new cleanroom will play a part in supporting that work for years to come.
