Connected conservation devices

“With the help of Rompa engineers, we created a long-lasting product that can be produced at scale. For organisations like ours, moving from a few working units to a series-produced product is very difficult. Rompa helped us reach a much higher level of quality at lower cost.” — Tim van Dam, Co-Founder, Smart Parks

Rugged product design, scalable production, consistent quality, lower unit costs

Overview

Smart Parks develops connected technology that helps wildlife rangers stay safe and coordinated in remote conservation areas. Its RangerEdge device combines GPS tracking, contact detection, and movement analysis to give teams better visibility in the field.

Rompa supported Smart Parks in moving from their functional prototype to scalable series production by developing a rugged plastic enclosure that protects the electronics while remaining lightweight and practical for daily use.

Since the project began in 2022, RangerEdge has been deployed in more than 50 protected areas worldwide. The Rompa-produced enclosure has also become the basis for new Smart Parks products including FenceEdge and ScannerEdge.
